Hi Ben, and welcome - are you the same Bezuidenhout from the English Wikipedia? Greenman 23:53, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, and I'm also Africa South on Afrikaans wikipedia, you are also the Greenman from both English and Afrikaand wikipedia? And thank you for the welcome :) I could really use your help on this wiki :/ --Bezuidenhout 06:19, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'm the same. I've been fairly involved in trying to help the African-language Wikipedias - see this post and the related links, etc, so I'm glad you're getting involved in this one. How fluent are you in Venda? I don't speak any, unfortunately. One area I can help out with is in template translation. Take, for example, the country templates from the English Wikipedia. They all have the same terms, for example area, president, neighbouring countries, etc. If you can help translate certain of these key terms, I can help populate the country articles with template data quite quickly. Would you be interested in helping with this? Greenman 12:38, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
This is my first account on a non-European language wikipedia, but unfortunatley I'm just as unfluent as you. The only thing I know of Venda off by hear is Ndaa (hello!), but my edits have mainly been mainly common sense of already created articles, such as using the same beggining sentance of Polokwane (Polokwane is the capital of the Limpopo province) for Kimberley (N. Cape). But I am keen to expand this wiki (and hopefully more), but I actually enjoy cleaning up South African language wikis, they have the same interrets, and it's a challenge. But if you look on my userpage (my Venda one) you will see that I have added two links about learning Venda. You might have been on these pages, but unfortunatley, Venda isn't one of the largest African languages, so this will be a struggle. I 'm sorry I was no help, but it's nice to know that I'm not alone in this abbys of messy articles.--Bezuidenhout 13:37, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
You may want to look at this Venda dictionary. It answers some of your questions, for example -wanala means "be found". Greenman 19:58, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Greenman.Bezuidenhout 21:31, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
The dictionary isn't full though. There are still many words I still don't know.--Bezuidenhout 14:06, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Translated logo for this wiki

edit

Hello! We have noticed that your wiki's current logo is not translated. We are trying to help Wikipedias get a localised logo, by taking the technical difficulties on us. We currently don't know how to translate "Wikipedia" and "The Free Encyclopedia" to the language of this wiki: it would be really helpful if you could just add the correct translations to the list of logos or tell us on its talk. When we have them, we'll create and enable the logo for you. Feel free to translate this message and to move/copy/forward it where appropriate. Thanks, Nemo 01:46, 16 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
